Our approach…
Student focused.
You focus on your studies, we’ll focus on the finances.
We only work with students, so we’re experts on all things grants, loans, and student discounts.
Why we started.
We saw that there was no way for a student to get genuinely good financial advice.
There is no other financial advisor that will set up your TFSA, walk you through your loan application, and find what grants you qualify for.
Simple pricing.
Graduate Planning is one of Edmonton’s only fee-only financial planning firms. This means we make no money from commissions, hidden investment fees, or referral incentives.
This allows us to focus on providing the best advice possible while offering simple and straightforward pricing.
Meet the team
Zach Prusko
Founder | MBA Student | Student Financial Planner
After graduating with my finance degree, I got a bougie job at ScotiaWealth Management managing investments for the banks high-net worth clientele. It was great working on complex tax strategies, in-depth financial plans, and highly customized investment portfolios. I loved my time there and even won a prestigious ‘top talent award’ for being one of the 10 best new hires across the entirety of the bank!
After a couple of years, I felt uncomfortable that only the most well-off had access to genuinely good financial help. I started shifting my focus towards working with students but quickly felt at odds with how a large institution like a bank offered their services. I realized that they only way to offer genuinely good financial advice was to be able to work as an independent fee-only advisor… and this became the start of Graduate Planning!
I spend my free time with my puppy (she’s tiny and little and small and perfect, thanks you for asking) and have an unhealthy addiction to rock climbing.
Jason Tran
Student Financial Advisor
Hi there! My name is Jason, and I recently graduated from the finance program at the U of A! I now have the privilege of working as a student financial advisor at Graduate Planning while pursuing my Personal Financial Planner designation. My role involves meeting with clients and helping them apply for grants, bursaries, and student aid.
When I'm not working or studying for my designation, I love watching movies in theatres and getting together with family and friends. If you have any good movie recommendations please let me know! :)
Angelique Loesel
Marketing
Hello there! I’m Angelique, and am a recent MacEwan graduate with a specialization in Marketing and International Business.
At Graduate Planning, I'm the go-to for anything and everything marketing related. Whether it's putting up posters (seriously, say hi if you spot me!) or ensuring our website stays up-to-date, I'm on it. If you're interested in collaborating or partnering with us, I'm your best point of contact!
Outside of work, I love spending time with friends, going to the gym and cuddling with my adorable cats (I have 3 of them!).
Kyle Le
Finance Student
Hi there! My name is Kyle, and I’m a 4th-year student majoring in Finance at the University of Alberta. Being a finance major comes with many perks, one of which is that I get the wonderful opportunity to join the team at Graduate Planning for one of my co-op work terms. Despite being the “intern,” I definitely plan on getting my financial planner designations sometime in the future and will hopefully join the team as a full-time employee after graduation. I enjoy working with students and helping them in any way I can (financially), so I’m looking forward to what the future has in store for me and Graduate Planning as a whole.
When I’m not at the office, I love spending time at home. Whether hanging out with my family and friends or playing video games on my computer, I love it all. On the other hand, I also am very fond of travelling. I’ve been to a handful of countries worldwide and plan on seeing many more!
Priyanka Singh
MBA Student
Hi! I’m Priyanka, a current 1st year full time MBA student at the Alberta School of Business and a part-time student financial advisor (in training) at Graduate Planning!
I’ve been a Mechanical engineer by undergrad degree, with 5 years of work experience in the oil and gas service industry in Kuwait as a Technical engineer. Pretty serious stuff, which is why I decided to switch things up and moved all the way over to Alberta, Canada to start a fresh chapter. It’s been interesting and adventurous so far.
For fun, I enjoy reading fiction, dabbling at cooking (pretty good so far), listening to music, watching things on YouTube and Netflix, spending time talking and going out with my sister and close friends here in Edmonton. I have a burning passion for strong black coffee.
