We came out of the UofA’s business accelerator program in 2022 and have received a substantial amount of support from investors and the university community. We have experienced rapid growth and are actively hiring to meet increasing demand.
Position: Grant Writer
We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to help drive growth by identifying and securing government and university grant funding that supports our mission. This is a high-impact role where your work directly contributes to our financial sustainability and capacity to grow our team and services. Your responsibilities will include:
Researching and identifying relevant grants from federal, provincial, municipal, and academic sources
Writing, editing, and submitting grant applications with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and impact
Managing and maintaining a grants calendar to track deadlines, outcomes, and reporting requirements
Collaborating with the CEO and other team members to gather key information and develop compelling proposals
Preparing supporting documents, budgets, and narratives tailored to each funding program
Monitoring awarded grants for compliance and assisting with reporting or renewals

Requirements:
2–3 years of experience writing successful government or institutional grant applications
Strong written communication and editing skills — You can make technical language clear and compelling
Excellent research skills — You’re proactive about finding new opportunities and understanding funder priorities
High attention to detail — You catch the small things that can make or break a grant
Organized and deadline-driven — You manage multiple applications and deadlines without dropping the ball
Comfortable working independently, while also collaborating with the executive team
A good sense of strategy — You can identify which grants align best with our goals as a startup and student employer
Compensation:
This is a salaried, full-time position with compensation dependent on experience and qualifications.
