Graduate Planning is a university-based startup with the goal of helping students make the most of their finances!

We came out of the UofA’s business accelerator program in 2022 and have received a substantial amount of support from investors and the university community. We have experienced rapid growth and are actively hiring to meet increasing demand.


Position: Financial Planner
We are seeking experienced individuals to join us as Financial Planners. In this role, you will be in charge of assisting students through investing, financial planning, and strategizing what grants to apply for. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct initial meetings to identify financial planning opportunities

  • Creating investment plans and custom portfolios

  • Managing up to two direct reports to assist by helping your clients apply for grants and set up investments

Requirements:

  • University degree, ideally from MacEwan or the University of Alberta.

  • Self-motivation and excellent organizational abilities to thrive in a largely independent work environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as the role requires essay writing and frequent face-to-face meetings.

  • Hold a CFP, QAFP, or PFP – or are capable of obtaining a QAFP within 1 year of hiring.

Compensation:

This is a full-time salaried role with stock options. The financial planning role is designed to be a long-term position with a built-in path to partnership.
